Saturday 24th September: A musical evening of historic Opposition to war:

Oh! What a Lovely War-Resistance?

A Musical Evening of Historic Opposition to War

Saturday 24 September 2016,  7.00 - 9.00 pm

Wesley Place Methodist Church, Alsager, ST7 2AF

OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR-RESISTANCE! is a musical evening of historic opposition to war. It blends a talk and a concert on the music that inspired the courageous people who opposed the First World War. There is an illustrated presentation by Clive Barrett from The Peace Museum, Bradford, and musical accompaniment by a choir from local churches. Together they produce an evening that is informative and entertaining. Be challenged and inspired by the war-resisters of the past. Be ready to listen to some great singing and expect to join in singing along to the unexpected.

Clive Barrett from the Bradford Peace Museum, is an Anglican priest and author of Subversive Peacemakers: War Resistance 1914-1918.

This event is being run in partnership with Everyday Lives in War, First World War Engagement Centre, School of Humanities, University of Hertfordshire.
